Marco Trotta: Ever since I could remember, being at a restaurant with friends and family was one of my favorite things, and now I want to share that with others. Outside of “The Flavor Odyssey”, I reside in Boise, Idaho and San Diego, California. I am also a sophomore at Bishop Kelly Highschool and enjoy playing Hockey, Surfing, Skiing, and Mountaineering. My favorite food is Ceviche, and my favorite song is “You Should’ve Seen the Other Guy” by Nathaniel Rateliffe.
Henry Turcotte: As someone who has grown up around Basque culture, food has always been an integral part of my life. Aside from food, I live and Boise and frequently venture to McCall, Idaho, where I enjoy skiing, mountain biking, going to the gym, and stocks. And because I’m from the Basque country, my favorite food is instinctively Paella.
Simply put, a good restaurant is one of the greatest experiences that humans have to offer. Although the food is at the top; the hospitality, decor, and music are the steps that get you to the food. These steps are just as important, and we wanted to illustrate that (and obviously the food!) Food also comes in many shapes and forms, but what is it really saying? Every dish tells a story–whether it’s rooted in cultural tradition or born from experimentation. Our goal is to analyze these dishes, as well as what’s beyond them, and share that with everyone. We hope to mash these perspectives to provide a quality food review.
