*A lunchtime review is a shorter review, less indepth on the flavors and service, but rather we focus on whether or not this restaurant would be a good place to grab a bite to eat, and enjoy some repose from a busy day.*
Atmosphere
Parilla is a modern, Mexican style cantina restaurant with a full-bar and TV's galore. With open seats, bar-style seating, and also booths, there are plenty of options. In the summer, the doors to 13th street and the back patio are open or completely removed. This is perfect for enjoying the warm Boise summers, especially with the addition of the misters on the outside of the restaurant, and on the ceiling. During the colder months, they put the doors back on. In all seasons, Parilla is a fun atmosphere to enjoy some food.
Food
Now, don't get me wrong, Parilla isn't the place where you are gonna go for "pinterest-worthy" food. But, it is the place where you and a few friends might grab a burrito, some nachos, or the $1 taco (only Tuesdays). It is simple, but good. We have been going to Parilla for about as long as we can remember, especially due to the fact that it's located in our favorite neighborhood in Boise; Hyde Park. Along with 2 or 3 other restaurants, Parilla is a Hyde Park staple and over the years, Parilla has yielded a consistent result, good food and a better atmosphere. The TV's, seating plan, and full bar complement the food greatly.
Value
Due to it's simplicity, spending a lot of money at Parilla is kind of hard to do. With most protein options being under $12, you can eat and be full without breaking the bank. And although I can't speak much on the bar experience, Parilla does offer promotions on certain days for drinks and Tecate Beer. There is also a kid's menu that has a lot of Parilla's favorites, just on a smaller level.
